Phra Dr. Anil Sakya
Dr. Anil Sakya was born in Nepal. At the age of 14, he
became a novice and was ordained as a Bhikku in Thailand
in 1980. He received B.A. in Sociology (Honors) from
Mahamakut Buddhist University; M.A. in Anthropology,
Kirtipur Campus, Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal;
MPhil in Social Anthropology, Christ's College, Cambridge
University, UK; and Ph.D. from Brunel University, Uxbridge,
Middlesex, United Kingdom.
received several awards and scholarships from their Majesties
of Thailand. Apart from his teaching at the College of
Religious Studies, Mahidol University and at Mahamakut
Buddhist University in Thailand, he is serving as the assistant
secretary to His Holiness the Supreme Patriach of Thailand
and also occasionally teaches at other academic institutions
in USA and Australia.

Buddhist Psychology; Buddhism in the West; and Anthropology
